About
Hugo da Gama Cerqueira graduated in economics at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. He holds master's and doctoral degrees in philosophy from the same University.
From 2006-2009, he served as editor of the Nova Economia.
He is currently the director of Cedeplar at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, where he also teaches history of economic thought and economic methodology.
His research interests are in political economy and moral philosophy of the Scottish Enlightenment (specially Adam Smith and David Hume), and in Marx's critique of political economy.
